Gente Urban Italian Eatery, home

An Italian kitchen in the heart of Fergus

Gente is Chef Angelo D’s trattoria, near where St. Andrew Street meets Highway 6.

Neapolitan at heart

Chef Angelo takes his cue from the simplicity of Neapolitan cooking. Gente works the way a good trattoria should: the menu is built on classic Italian dishes, with a focus on pasta, pizza and hearty entrées like rack of lamb.

Angelo has many years of cooking behind him, and he cares as much about how a plate looks as how it tastes.

Gente means people

In Italian, gente means “people”, and that’s the idea: good food, a glass of wine and good company, with a little Mediterranean liveliness in the middle of Fergus.

The dessert menu has a family touch, too: its apple strudel is listed as made by Mama.
